It has been two months since hundreds gathered to celebrate the graduation of 14 of our wonderful Baxter students. Now these students have gone out all over Latin America to put into practice the things that they learned during their time at Baxter! This is just a glimpse of what some of our recent graduates are doing!
Juan and Alicia have returned with their four daughters to Bolivia, where he is currently working at the first Church of Christ that was established there. He says, “that the church is growing slowly, but that they are starting to see growth.” They just completed their first seminar aimed at bringing in people from the community. He asks for your prayers for their family and the work that is being done in Bolivia.
Danilo has returned to Bogotá, Colombia where he is currently preaching in an area called Funza. He is working long hours each day to support himself while trying to study and grow more in his knowledge of the Bible.
Three of our recent graduates have stayed in Tegucigalpa and are working at two different local congregations. David Guevara is working as an evangelist with the congregation in Villa Nueva Sector 8. Yader and María are currently working with the Las Lomas congregation. Yader is preaching for the Las Lomas church and is thankful to God for the growth that they have been recently experiencing there.
Yuliesky and Yanet returned to Cuba on Feburary 24th with their one-month-old baby girl, Ashley! They plan to join a team of two other couples who graduated from Baxter two years ago who together will do a new church plant in Cuba. Keep them in your prayers as they transition back to Cuba and to life as new parents.
David and Kennya have returned to Nicaragua where they are currently working with multiple ministries. David is writing articles for different magazines, preaching for radio programs, teaching CELO courses, preaching for their congregation, and teaching Bible class. His wife Kennya is currently in charge of the children’s ministry at their congregation. They are also working with a ministry to strengthen marriages in their church.
Saul and Yaneth have returned to Saul’s home town of Acacoyagua Chiapas, Mexico where he is currently working a full time job to support his family while also preaching at a 25 member congregation. His work with the congregation includes training other men to help lead, teaching Bible classes, preaching, and preparing for an upcoming area wide worship. Saul is working hard to balance his full-time job, preaching, and his time with his wife and two sons.
This is just a glimpse of some of the work that our students are now doing all over Latin America. We were blessed to have these students on campus for four years, but we are thankful that they are now using the skills and tools that they acquired at Baxter to spread the love of Christ. Please consider supporting Baxter by clicking on this paypal link and giving, so that more men and women such as these can study and prepare to share the Gospel all over Latin America! Please continue to pray for Baxter, our current students, and those that graduated from Baxter. May God be glorified through all of the work that is done here.
